Granada, Spain

It's all about this:

Even the man hole covers refer to it:

The Alhambra is an Islamic palace and fortress, started in the 9th century but really built up in the 11th century. Touring the many gardens and buildings is a major undertaking. Whew! Book tickets ahead of time and plan for at least 1/2 day. Go in the morning when it opens. It's cooler and you beat the crowds, sort of.  Get a guide.
My favourite shot.
The gardens are many and varied. This was a beautiful rose blooming in late September.
The view of Granada from the fortress
Palacio de Generalife: simple summer house for the Kings.
Nice cottage. I could live here.
It is situated outside the walls of the Alhambra but in the complex, so nobles returned to the fortified part of the palace at night.
This is the money shot apparently. A few professional photographers were setting up shots. The reflection in the pool is what one is after supposedly.
Court of the Lions. Magnificent.
(Cats again ;-)
A quiet, cool, corner of the palace.
I know the feeling. Exhausted tourista.
Another flower shot in the gardens.
"Reading the paper, watching the street."
I was walking around Granada and captured this moment.
"C'mon play with me, pleeeeezzz."
Granada cats.
