Valencia, Spain

Valencia is the home of Paella.
Yum.

Took a fast train to get to Valencia. It broke 300km/hr. I know cuz the sign told me.
Too fast and too much reflection to get a good photo.
While in town I rented a bike and traveled 60km in one day.
Went to the market
Impressive
Checked out the scampi
I biked the "Jardines de Turia". The river Turia had always been prone to floods and in 1957 the flood was particularly bad. People lost their lives and much of the city was devastated. Valencia divert the course of the river. The fertile soil of the riverbed quickly gave life to a lush garden. This park is now the central axis of the city, and 9km of a green belt surrounded by ancient walls and buildings. It is fantastic to walk, jog, ride a bicycle, etc.
Then I turned my bike south, and took a bike path along the coast. There were beaches all along the way. You can see the Port of Valencia off in the distant horizon.

Back to Valencia. They have these crazy modern buildings. The one in the far distance looks like a helmet. It's a concert hall. There's also a marine park, museum of science. This is not the greatest photo. Really does not do the area justice. So nice to see something modern and unique.
Biked to the beach. Had sangria and paella. Went swimming. It was divine. Beautiful beaches.
Back to my hotel, and dropped off the bike. Tired puppy. Great day.
